Nancy has worked in education and
human services for over 35 years. She has been an administrator in the National
University System in San Diego, California since 1979. Currently, she serves as
the Interim Executive Vice President of National University as well as the Interim Vice Chancellor for Marketing. For the last several years, she was in the role of Vice Chancellor for the Division of Pre-College Programs which provides
oversight to the National University Virtual High School and the National
University Academy. During her career, Nancy has held a variety of leadership
positions within National University statewide and regionally in student
services, admissions, enrollment management, community relations, academics, online
learning and administration. Nancy served as the Associate Regional Dean of San
Diego providing oversight to all locations for over a decade.
Nancy is a native Minnesotan and earned her bachelor’s degree with majors in Social Work and Sociology from St. Cloud State University graduating magna cum laude. Nancy completed her MBA degree at National University. She has completed her coursework for her doctorate degree in Education in the area of Organizational Leadership from University of Laverne. She is currently enrolled in an Ed.D Joint Doctorate Program through UC San Diego and CSU San Marcos.
As a long-term resident of San Diego County, Nancy is involved in the local education community, civic activities, schools and charitable organizations. She has represented National University in several statewide and regional educational organizations. Nancy serves on numerous advisory boards, assists in regional conferences and has represented educational initiatives at regional, statewide and national levels. She has participated in many community and educational organizations including currently serving on the board for Cal-SOAP, USS Midway Museum, the San Diego Council on Literacy and the San Diego County Office of education AVID Dollars for Scholars chapter. Nancy is a graduate of Lead San Diego and Leadership California and is a member of California Women Lead. Her educational outreach has also included working with the Campaign for College Opportunity, HEUG, College Board, iNACOL, ISTE, CUE, AACRAO, NASPA, CCSA, USDLA, AICCU and the California Articulation Council. Throughout her career, she has remained involved in many civic and regional non-profit organizations.
Nancy has dedicated her professional career to encouraging educational opportunities for diverse populations of students with a focus on increasing access and services to all learners through innovative delivery systems at the K-12, undergraduate and graduate levels.
